Cyclo-Cross World Cup

January 17, 2005 – Sven Nys (Rabobank) looks poised to be the odds-on favourite at the upcoming ‘Cross worlds in Germany at the end of this month, after a stunning victory in the fifth World Cup in Nommay, France, yesterday. Tom Vannoppen (Palmans-Sapim) was third, followed by Rabo’s Sven Vanthourenhout.

Cyclo-Cross World Cup

October 26, 2003 – Belgian champ Sven Nijs beat compatriot and current world champion Bart Wellens, with Tom Vannoppen in third. Nijs just outsprinted Wellens; the two of them threw their bikes to the finish with Nijs just inches ahead. With the win, Nijs takes the lead in the World Cup series, which continues until next January.
