The weekend was excellent! Saturday was sunny, hot and dry while Sunday was greasy and non-stop raining offering excellent opportunity to coach in differing conditions.

Chad Hendren,Cycling BC Coach said of the weekend “For the Team to be able to partner up with Whistler/Blackcomb is priceless! It is the ultimate place to train with massive terrain giving trail diversity; huge vertical for strengthening and conditioning and of course the lift service for getting back up to the training grounds as quickly as possible.”

Forrest Riesco, Junior Expert Team Rider (3rd at Bromont Canada Cup) said of the camp “The Cycling BC team training camp in Whistler this past weekend was a lot of fun and informative. Getting in so many runs up there was very helpful and allowed me to work on and perfect some things I needed to improve.”

The DH Team will be holding another Camp in mid August at the Whistler Bike Park before the Provincial Championships and will be working and racing hard till then.

Cycling BC will be supporting the team through two vital weeks of racing for the athletes – The Canadian Nationals and the last Canada Cup of the year.  These are key races for riders hoping to make the Canadian National Team for the World Championships in Switzerland and to gain points for the Canada Cup.

“The team is hungry for a Cycling BC sweep,” said Hendren. “I’m looking forward to seeing the results. They all have the potential to podium so I’m excited to see their final results.”
