Cycles Devinci Clarifies Position on CITT Issue

September 23, 2005 – I would like to take this opportunity to clarify the position that Cycles Devinci has adopted with regards to the Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s investigation as it applies to imported bicycles and finished and painted frames. Firstly, I believe that it is important to note that Cycles Devinci is not an active member of the Canadian Bicycle Manufacturer’s Association (CBMA).

It is our opinion that the actions proposed by the tribunal will be a disadvantage to Devinci’s operations and we are opposed to their adoption. These actions are discriminatory and are specifically biased towards the needs of the companies who registered the complaint. At Devinci, we believe that the measures proposed will paralyze the majority of Canadian bicycle manufacturers.

Sincerest regards,
Félix Gauthier
President and General Manager
Cycles Devinci Inc
