September 22, 2005 – Please join the Cycle Ontario Alliance www.CycleOntario.ca and our local hosts (Hamilton and Burlington Cycling Advisory Committees and the McMaster ACT Office www.act.mcmaster.ca) in Hamilton this fall for a day of discussion and information exchange around cycling issues and topics.

The proposed itinerary has great speakers, presentations, and lots of opportunities for networking and interaction including:

· Friday night’s informal reception (Oct. 21) at
the campus’ Phoenix Pub from 7:00pm to 11:00pm
· Sunday bike rides explore Hamilton’s shore (Oct. 23), and
· Conference Saturday (Oct. 22) with our keynote
guest speaker, Dr. Robin Williams, Medical
Officer of Health and Commissioner of Public
Health, Regional Niagara, with sessions on topics
such as:

– Cycling, Health, and Well Being
– Successful cycling plans and how relevant and transferable are they?
– The potential for cycling in Ontario
– Cycling education
– Urban design and cycling
– Cycling Facility design
– Leisure Cycling and Area Wide Cycling Networks
– Expanding the Cycle Ontario Alliance Movement
– Poster session – What’s happening for cyclists in your community, or
What have you done to promote cycling?

The program is now being finalized; if you still wish to make a presentation call the Program Committee directly. We are still looking for posters and displays for our poster session (due date October 4).
