September 21, 2016 (Las Vegas, NEV) – Canada’s Catharine Pendrel (Luna) finished 7th as Sophie de Boer (Ned) Kalas-NNOF claimed the opening round of the ClifBar CrossVegas 2016 World Cup this evening prevailing over Katerina Nash (Cze) Luna Pro in second with Katherine Compton (USA) Trek third. Pendrel was leading on the second lap but fell back as the race progressed and finished 7th as the top Canadian.

Michael Van Den Ham (Garneau-Easton Cycling) was the top Canadian in 17th as Wout van Aert (Bel) Crelan-Vastgoedservice Continental took the men’s race over Michael Vanthourenhout (Bel) Marlux-Napoleon Games in second with Laurens Sweeck (Bel) Era – Murprotec third.
