May 17, 2016 (Creemore, ON) – In spite of the weather, it was a warm day for Creemore Springs Turas Mór, because of the camaraderie of the cyclists who faced the elements, the warmth of the local community’s food and Creemore Vintage Festival, and the generosity of Creemore Springs, who refunded all entries yet carried forward with all the perks of the Turas Mór event.  For these riders, the only cold they felt was the beer.

The day started with rain and low temperatures, but the ride ended with a collection of weekend warriors – who braved the elements to participate in the inaugural Creemore Springs Turas Mór on May 14 – standing tall and bonded by an experience like no other.

No matter if they completed the 60km journey on gravel and paved roads or if they made it to the first rest stop, Terra Nova, with its fresh fruit, vegetables, smoothies and a collection of charcuterie or if they trekked on to the second rest stop, in the picturesque Dunedin, they will forever remember the day they got on their bicycles and rode Turas Mór.  All who heard the bagpipes of Creemore’s Poet Laureate Tim Armour leading the riders out of town will have an epic story to tell their friends and children of today and children and grandchildren of tomorrow.

Some dressed in vintage riding gear and others riding vintage bicycles, all were treated at the end of their Creemore Springs Turas Mór ride with a freshly prepared meal by Michael Stadlander of Eigensinn Farm, the Terra Nova Public House and the team from Men with Knives.  An assortment of salads, pulled pork sandwiches, fish stew and other goodies (even vegan ones) met the riders at the end of their ride, warming their hearts and stomachs.

Not to be outdone, the MultiSport Canada crew kept each and every rider safe, as they do throughout their event calendar: the Recharge with Milk Triathlon Series, Niagara Falls Barrelman and the Ontario Women`s Triathlon.
