Correction to Ed Veal Hour Record Story Regarding Canadian Hour Record Holder

release by Real Deal Racing

March 26, 2015 – In our release regarding Ed Veal’s Hour Record Attempt it has been brought to our attention that Mike Nash is in fact the current Canadian Hour Record holder and we want to ensure that he gets the proper credit for his accomplishment as apparently the CCA hadn’t updated their online records – read the release here.

Nash, a masters athlete in Ottawa, set the record of 45.95km in Manchester, UK, in October 2011. He also held the world record for his age category (40-44) for a few months before an Australian beat it.

On April 10, at the new Mattamy National Cycling Centre in Milton, Ontario, Veal will attempt to break both the Master Men’s 35-39 category, as well as the Canadian Hour Record. The standing Best Hour Performance in the Master Men’s 35-39 age division is held by Australian, Jayson Austin, who set the record distance of 48.315km in one hour at the Dunc Gray Velodrome in Sydney Australia in 2009.

We apologize to all parties concerned and thank Pedal‘s Dave Jack for his input as he coached Nash back in 2011 when he set the Canadian Hour Record.
