Correction To Canada Cup MTB XC #6 Report

August 16, 2005 – In our report on the Canada Cup MTB XC #6 Finals held on August 13, 2005 at Sun Peaks Resort, B.C., we stated that Martin Lazarski (Rocky Mountain/Business Objects) had won the 2005 Espoir cross-country Canada Cup title as was announced during the presentations on site.-

However, due to reader concerns that this may be incorrect we contacted the CCA to request clarification. Chris Dodson, the CCA Officials Coordinator, told us, “I have just finished compiling the Canada Cup results after the Sun Peaks final. The series is calculated as the best four out of six events. Both Andrew Watson (ON, Gears Racing) and Martin Lazarski finished the series with 590 points. However as Martin Lazarski did not attend the last two events Andrew Watson finishes ahead of him.”

Dodson added that in the case of a draw on points the most recent event attended by a rider takes precedence, or if both riders attended the most recent race then the rider with the best placing takes precedence. Dodson confirmed that this will be posted on the CCA’s website within the next couple of days.

Congratulations to both riders and Pedal apologizes to all parties concerned.
