Cops on Wheels – Yes!

Kudos to you for writing about the bicycle unit of Toronto's (and Canada's) finest in your “point de vue fiminin” column. I just wanted to point out that Toronto's cops on bikes have to complete a CAN-BIKE cycling skills course to review their road user knowledge in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act from the cyclist's perspective. While the women and men in blue complete their course through Police Vehicle Operations, regular citizens are able to take CAN-BIKE at local community centres. This spring I attended a CAN-BIKE course where I learned defensive cycling skills, gained confidence on the road, and had fun. I would recommend it to cyclists everywhere!

Safe and fun riding!
