Coppa dei Laghi to Replace Women’s Primavera Rosa Replace in 2007

March 6, 2006 — Italy’s Primavera Rosa 2006, round three of the 2006 UCI Women’s Road World Cup series scheduled for March 18, was officially cancelled on January 26, 2006. But race organizers are hoping to make a comeback in 2007 with a new event, the Coppa dei Laghi, to replace the Primavera Rosa

The Coppa dei Laghi does not have a World Cup sanction yet but organizers hope to resolve this soon and establish the race on the international calender. The prospective race route begins in Salò and heads to the Sabbia Valley, then riders attack a 6K climb in Lodrino before winding up in Brescia.
