CONI Investigates Valverde

February 11, 2009 – Spanish star Alejandro Valverde (Caisse d’Epargne) has been linked to the Operation Puerto blood doping case and has been summoned to appear before CONI (Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano), the Italian Olympic Committee’s anti-doping commission, reports AP in the Herald Tribune. They want to question him in connection with blood and urine samples taken during the Italian leg of the 2008 Tour de France which are alleged to match blood samples seized in the Puerto investigation.
