April 04, 2016 – Colin Hearth, 83, legendary Canadian cycling coach and founding member of the St. Catharines Cycling Club, passed away unexpectedly in hospital in Las Tunas, Cuba on March 28th. Hearth was an integral part of Ontario’s cycling community in the late ’70s and coached top Canadian riders Karen Strong, Gord Singleton, and Steve Bauer. A celebration of Colin Hearth’s life will be held on Thursday, April 21st from 5-7 PM at the St. Catharines Club, 77 Ontario Street. Read more here and his obituary here.

As president of the OCA he discovered and developed local racers who became international Champions and brought UCI “star studded” cycling to obscure Ontario. Amazing.
