release by Colavita/Fine Cooking Pro Cycling

May 13, 2013 (Edison, NJ) — Laura Brown and Jamie Bookwalter will represent the Colavita/Fine Cooking Pro Cycling Team in the road race and time trial at the Gatineau Grand Prix on May 17-18.  Brown, who sprinted to Colavita/Fine Cooking’s first victory earlier this month (her first pro road win), represented Canada at the London Olympics and captured a bronze medal at the team pursuit at the 2013 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.

Bookwalter, a strong all-around rider, finished in the top 10 in the time trial at the Sea Otter Classic.  Lindsay Bayer, who proved an aggressive challenger at the USA Crits Speed Week series, will join Brown and Bookwalter on the starting line of the road race along with Canadian Leah Guloien and sprinter Jen Purcell.

Capitalizing on the team’s strong performance at last week’s National Criterium Championship (NCC) events, Tina Pic, Mary Zider, and Jackie Kurth will represent Colavita/Fine Cooking at the Wilmington Grand Prix on May 18. Pic, the former six-time US National Criterium Champion, and Zider contributed to Colavita/Fine Cooking’s strong showing at USA Crits events.

Kurth, a student at Marian University, was part of the foursome that recently won the 2013 USA Cycling Collegiate Team Time Trial Championship.  For results and photos, visit www.TeamColavita.com.
