August 16, 2005 – American Chris Horner had a stellar 2005 season with Spain’s Saunier Duval team, riding his first Tour de France and scoring a victory at a the Tour of Switzerland, and in 2006 Horner will ride with the Davitamon-Lotto squad. He made his return to Europe last year, riding with the Spanish team after a few years of riding domestically in the USA. Prior to that, Horner had a tough time adapting to the Euro races on both Mercury and La Francais de Jeux. He joins his compatriot Freddy Rodriguez on on the Belgian team.
