February 9, 2009 (Ottawa, ON) – The Canadian Cycling Association is seeking suitable applicants to fill the positions of Para-Cycling Head Coach and Mountain Bike Head Coach. Application deadlines for both positions is February 27. Both contracts do not require the individual to work form the national office. Both contracts start on April 1. Para-Cycling Head Coach
The CCA is searching for a Para-Cycling coach who possesses vision, energy along with significant international experience to lead the Para-Cycling national program. The Canadian Cycling Association (CCA) is the recognized authority by the UCI (Union Cycliste International) on all aspects of cycling in Canada, including BMX, Cyclocross, Mountain Bike, Para‐Cycling, Road and Track.

Job Description:
In partnership with the Chief Technical Officer (CTO), the Para-Cycling will be responsible for the technical direction and implementation of the Para‐cycling disciplines of road and track for Canada. The Coach will receive administrative support from the Para‐Cycling coordinator.

In collaboration with the CTO and the coordinator, the Coach is expected to:
– Develop, lead, implement and monitor the success of the Para‐Cycling national program;
– Establish and evaluate performance measures and targets for national team athletes;
– Advise on development programs and run /or oversee development activities;
– Foster strong partnerships with national team athletes, personal coaches, and provincial coaches;
– In collaboration with the coordinator, ensure effective financial management of the Para‐Cycling budget;
– In partnership with the CTO, recommend criteria for selection and carding;
– Support the development and delivery of the National Coaching Certification program (NCCP) and LTAD initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in and knowledge of Para‐Cycling, road and track, and will possess strong consultative, facilitation and decision‐making skills. She/he will have demonstrated success as a team leader with excellent management, administrative, and financial skills are considered key attributes. The ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset.

Mountain Bike Head Coach

The Canadian Cycling Association (CCA) is the recognized authority by the UCI (Union Cycliste International) on all aspects of cycling in Canada, including BMX, Cyclocross, Mountain Bike, Para‐Cycling, Road and Track.

Job Description:
In partnership with the Chief Technical Officer (CTO), the Mountain Bike Coach will be responsible for the technical direction and implementation of the Olympic discipline of cross country for Canada. The (MTB) coach will receive administrative support from the MTB coordinator. In collaboration with the CTO and the coordinator, the MTB Coach (cross country) is expected to:

– Develop, lead, implement and monitor the success of the Mountain Bike national program;
– Establish and evaluate performance measures and targets for national team athletes;
– Advise on development programs and run /or oversee development activities;
– Foster strong partnerships with national team athletes, personal coaches, provincial coaches and trade teams;
– In collaboration with the MTB Coordinator, ensure effective financial management of the MTB budget;
– In partnership with the CTO, recommend criteria for selection and carding;
– Support the development and delivery of the National Coaching Certification program (NCCP) and LTAD initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in and knowledge of Cross Country Mountain Bikiing and will possess strong consultative, facilitation and decision‐making skills. She/he will have demonstrated success as a team leader with excellent management, administrative, and financial skills are considered key attributes. The ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset.
