July 14, 2011 (Limoux, France) – The Tour de France is like a magnet for cyclists the world over including Canadians, some of whom make the trip across the pond to take in cycling’s biggest race and perhaps rub shoulders with stardom, while experiencing some the best cycling routes offered in Europe. Of course cheering for any Canucks racing at the Tour is part of the allure and this year B.C.’s Ryder Hesjedal (Garmin Cervelo) is the lone Canadian in the pro peloton.

D’Ornellas Cycling Club has been making an annual pilgrimage to the Tour for several years and here are some photos of club members at Col de Jau and the Col De Pailheres in France where they’re training and getting ready for the upcoming Stage 15 in Limoux this Sunday. Mark Berger (D’Ornellas) and Ron Zimmer rode the Grand Fondo in Limoux which Berger won and Zimmer was 25th… enjoy the photos.
