August 31, 2007 – Canada’s Alison Sydor will be one of four individuals inducted to the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame this September during Interbike in Las Vegas. Sydor will be honoured in the Racing History category. Hill Abell enters the MTB Hall of Fame in the Advocacy category, Sal Ruibal for Journalism and Frank Wadelton for Industry.
Sydor has three World Championship titles, the Silver Medal from the 1996 Olympics, three UCI World Cup titles and 17 World Cup wins.
The Mountain Bike Hall of Fame and Museum, located in Crested Butte, Colorado, was founded in 1988 to chronicle the history of mountain biking.
As of 2006, 96 individuals and four groups have been inducted. All have made major contributions to mountain biking. Their photos and biographies line the walls of the museum.
