“Stéphane was caught up in a big crash yesterday on the Manchester track. He lost consciousness for many minutes and suffered from amnesia for one hour. He is now at the hospital in Manchester. His head is much better with no bleeding. But he suffered a fracture to the hip around his pelvis and a fracture to a collar bone. We are waiting to see how things turn out, but he will stay here at the hospital at least until Monday.  Then we will try to bring him back to Canada for surgery and a long recovery. I hope to live up to his expectations for care: Pascale xxxx,” reads a translation of one posting.

Le Beau claimed the silver at this year’s UCI Masters Track Worlds in the Men’s 55-59 Scratch Race (30 laps) won by Larry Nolan of USA with Vladimir Zyryanov of Russia taking the bronze.

Pedal joins the cycling community in wishing Le Beau a speedy recovery and a safe return to Canada.
