Canada’s Ryan Anderson Strong 5th at Grand Prix la Marseillaise – Houle 13th

January 31, 2016 (Marseille, France) – Canada’s Ryan Anderson delivered a strong 5th place finish as he debuted for his new pro team Direct Energie, at the 152km Grand Prix la Marseillaise in southern France on Sunday. The Albertan rider was 42 seconds off the podium while fellow Canuck Hugo Houle (AG2R) finished 13th with the same time. Anderson’s Canadian teammate, Antoine Duchesne (Direct Energie), was 63rd. Belgium’s Dries Devenyns (IAM Cycling) edged out Frenchman Thibaut Pinot (FDJ) in the final sprint to the line.

    Really nice guy but a hungry, sprinting, killer on the bike. Aching to win the big one, which is just a matter of time and luck, has to come.
