October 20, 2018 (Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, FRA) – Canada’s Derek Gee is the lone Canuck racing at the opening round of the 2018-19 Tissot UCI Track World Cup in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France this weekend. The rising star, who recently won four titles at the track nationals, is competing in the Men’s Omnium.

Gee is currently sitting 13th after placing 8th in the Scratch Race and 15th in the Tempo Race, with two competitions still to come in the 4-event Omnium. Providing expertise and experience as Team Manager is legendary trackie, Zach Bell, a world champion silver medalist in the Omnium.

Next weekend is Round 2 at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre, in Milton, Ont. where Team Canada will field 22 riders to take on the world.
