Canada’s Canuel Wins Stage 7 at Thuringen Rundfahrt Claims 2nd Overall

July 24, 2015 (Greiz, Germany) – Canada’s Karol Ann Canuel (Can) Velocio-SRAM won the seventh and final stage of the Thuringen Rundfahrt on July 23rd in Germany to claim second overall on the GC. She won a two-up sprint for the win at the end of the 99km stage against Emma Johansson (Swe) Orica-AIS.

With her second place result Johansson captured the GC victory, with Canuel only 10 seconds back for second overall. Both finished in the same time of 2:42:10, while third place, Amanda Spratt (Aus) Orica-AIS, crossed the line in third spot, 22 seconds behind. Canuck Joelle Numainville (Can) Bigla Pro Cycling Team also had a strong ride, placing seventh on the stage and finished sixth overall.
