Canada’s Adams & Champagne Nab 5 Medals at Masters Pan-Am Champs

October 06, 2011 (Ottawa, ON) – Sylvan Adams and Denis Champagne, both of Montreal, QC, nabbed a total of five medals at the 2011 UCI Masters Pan-American Championships this week in Cuba, including two titles.

Sylvan Adams won the titles in the Points race in the age group of 50-54 years old, as well as the road time trials race. He added a silver medal in the road race and a bronze medal in the scratch race on the track.

Denis Champagne took the silver medal in the Sprint event for the age group of 50-54 years old.

Adams, Champagne, Stéphane Lebeau and Philippe Raymond will be departing for Manchester, GBR in the next few days to compete in the 2011 UCI Track Masters World Championships.

The Canadian Cycling Association congratulates Adams and Champagne for their accomplishments, and wishes the team headed to Manchester for top performances.
