Beveridge Signs with Team TIBCO for 2009

January 13, 2009 – The TIBCO Women’s Pro Cycling Team has announced the addition of Canada’s Julie Beveridge to the 2009 roster. Beveridge caught the squad’s attention in 2008, her first year as a pro, when she won the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic and finished third in the Cascade Classic Stage Race. She is the current U23 Canadian National Road and Time Trial Champion, finished second in the Canadian Elite National Time Trial Championship, and in 2008 competed in the World Championships for Canada. Beveridge has already established herself as one of the top climbers in the world while working as a full-time student at the University of Calgary.

Team TIBCO is on track for a very successful 2009. In addition to Beveridge, the team has added three new riders to the roster: Emma Rickards (Aus), Kat Carroll (NZl) and Meredith Miller (USA), along with 10 returning riders. The squad’s 2009 goals include building on the success and cohesiveness established last year, and win every race entered. Looking forward, the plan is to keep growing the team so that it can get riders the international racing they need in 2010 to prepare for the 2012 Olympic Games. The racers look forward to sharing the exciting road that lies ahead.
