BC Performance Road Cycling Clinics

February 22, 2006 – Performance Cycling Clinics aimed at athletes newer to cycling. Three sessions to take you from “newby to knowby…”

Performance Cycling Clinics

-Session 1; March 10, 11th.

Learn to Ride; bike riding basics, “you don’t know what you don’t know”

-Session 2; April 14, 15th.

Learn to Train; what it takes to get to goal

-Session 3; May 16, 17th.

Learn to Race; Performance techniques

-Session 1 Introduction-Learn to Ride; bike skills, pedaling efficiency, gearing, braking.

Fri March 10th 6-8 pm. Sat March 11th, 9:30-11:30 Locations; Delta/ Surrey

Session 2 Technique-Learn to Train; bike handling, hill

climbing, training, time trials, cornering; Fri April 14th.

(Easter Friday) 10:00 — 12:00 noon.

Sat April 15th. 9:30 — 11:30 am. Locations; Delta

Session 3 Performance-Learn to Race; Technique, high speed cornering, sprinting, descending – no brakes!

Tue May 16th. 6 — 8:00 pm Wed May 17th.

Locations; Richmond

*This course is for you, if you are; an athlete or triathlete, newer to cycling, who would like to have more confidence in your riding and learn tips that may otherwise take years! or you are interested in learning to become more efficient on the bike and learn the latest techniques.

Barbara has been cycling competitively for 20 years, coaching for 15, and is a World Champion, Masters, World Masters Games gold medalist, current Canadian Masters Road Race champion and 2 time B.C. Road Race champion. She has an SFU Kinesiology Health and Fitness Certification and NCCP coach level 2. She is also a registered ACSM Exercise Specialist (American College of Sports Medicine).
