Atlantic Open Track Championships

August 17, 2005 РThis weekend, the best track cyclists from Eastern Canada will participate in the 4th Atlantic Open Track Championships. Competitions will be held at the Caisse populaire Dieppe V̩lodrome on Friday evening and Saturday.

Riders will compete in a variety of events, just as attractive from one to the other. Among those events, we will find endurance pack events (points race, scratch race, elimination race), individual events (pursuit, kilo), and sprint events (match sprints, keirin, olympic sprint). “Track is very spectator friendly and every event are very fun to watch” says National Cycling Centre president Guy Vincent.

At the end of the weekend, points will be cumulated to crown the champions.

Since its construction in 2001, the Caisse populaire Dieppe Vélodrome has helped many cyclists making it to the next level. ” People may not realize it, but it’s a great work tool for our athletes and we are now starting to collect medals on a regular basis at the national level” adds Luc Arseneau, Head coach of the national cycling Centre.
Admittance is free for spectators throughout the weekend.
