UCI Announces Athlete Quotas for Women’s Road Cycling Events at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games – Canada Awarded 3 Spots

June 01, 2016 – Team Canada has secured three Road Race and two Time Trial spots for women at Rio 2016 – see official release that follows. The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is pleased to announce the list of the 38 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) qualified for the women’s road cycling events at the upcoming Olympic Games, and the quotas of athletes allocated to each of them – see below and here.

According to the Olympic qualification system calendar for women’s road cycling, the NOCs have until June 15 to confirm the use of the places obtained. After that date, the UCI will reallocate the unused places.

The Olympic qualification system for cycling’s four Olympic disciplines are published on the UCI website here. The Olympic road cycling competitions will be held on August 6-7 in Fort Copacabana (road races) and on August 10 in Pontal-Barra (time trials).
