IMBA Canada’s Trail Care Crew, on the road since 2010, is IMBA Canada’s grassroots educational program. Featuring a traveling team of trail specialists, the program offers everything from sustainable trail building schools to high-level land manager training and organizational support for clubs.
Our experts work seasonally throughout Canada, meeting with IMBA Canada clubs, land manager partners, and the communities they serve to improve mountain biking opportunities.
The Trail Care Crew program has inspired great volunteer trail work — a big help to government agencies and land managers who have limited funding for trail construction and upkeep. As a direct result, there are now hundreds of new and improved trails in all provinces and territories.
With our traveling crew, each visit is anchored around IMBA’s highly-respected, one-day Trail Building School, during which the crew teaches sustainable trail building. This means building lasting trails that require minimal maintenance, reduce trail damage, protect the environment and enhance visitor enjoyment.
IMBA Canada affiliated bike clubs, local trail groups, and land management agencies are invited to apply between now and November 1, 2015. Active organizations should not miss this opportunity to learn about sustainable trail building and design, club growth, and community trails development.

About the Trail Care Crew
Since 2010 the Canadian Trail Care Crew program has supported outdoor recreation communities by providing education on trail building and volunteer management, training local volunteer groups to work more effectively with land managers, and by representing mountain bikers’ interests to local and national decision-makers.
The IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew is made possible by support from its Program Partners: Parks Canada, Subaru Canada, and Shimano Canada. Without the support and leadership of these organizations the Trail Care Crew program would not be possible. Additional program support is being provided by Trek Bicycles.
The goals of the program are to inspire high quality trail projects, increase stewardship of Canada’s public lands, promote Canada’s natural heritage sites, and strengthen mountain bike and trails communities.
