Canada’s Lay 8th on Stage 3 @ Amgen Tour of California Women – Rivera Wins

May 13, 2017 (Sacramento, California) – Kirsti Lay (Rally Cycling) led the Canadian charge on Stage 3 from Elk Grove to Sacramento, 118km, as Coryn Rivera (USA) Team Sunweb won the bunch sprint over Arlenis Sierra (Cub) Astana Women’s Team in second and Giorgia Bronzini (Ita) Wiggle High5 in third.

Late escapee Mandy Heintz (USA) Visit Dallas DNA Pro Cycling was reeled in with 5km to go and the pack stayed together for the final run in to Sacramento where Rivera took charge. Katie Hall (USA) UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling now has a mere 1-second lead over Anna Van Der Breggen (Ned) Boels Dolmans Cyclingteam for the top spot while Lex Albrecht (Can) Team Tibco-Silicon Valley Bank remains the top Canuck overall in 14th with Lay 17th.
