Air Force Cycling Classic Crystal City – Kirchmann Wins, Numainville 2nd

June 12, 2011 (Arlington, VA)-Canada’s Leah Kirchmann (Colavita/Forno D’Asolo), the reigning 2010 National Criterium Champ, scored the win on Sunday at the Air Force Cycling Classic Crystal City, 60-minute race, swapping spots with fellow Canuck Joelle Numainville (Tibco/To the Top) who finished second. Yesterday Numainville took the 50km Clarendon Cup with Kirchmann the bridesmaid. Lauren Tamayo (Peanut Butter & Co Twenty12) finished third on the Crystal City podium. With her win Kirchmann claimed the overall omnium title.

In the men’s race it was UnitedHealthcare’s Jake Keough taking the sprint win as he defended his title winning the bunch sprint over teammates Hilton Clarke and Robert Forster in second and third respectively.
