June 8, 2009 (Calgary, AB) – The Alberta Bicycle Association is excited to launch a summer camp program for youth of all ages and abilities in Calgary this Summer. July 6-10 will host a camp for children aged 9-13, while a camp for youth aged 14-17 will be held July 13-17.
Camp Highlights
– Introduction to all four disciplines of cycling through drills, activities and basic riding techniques
– One-on-one coaching
– Meet former or current Canadian national team members
– Off bike activities such as stretching and agility
Requirements
Participants do not require any cycling experience. Every participant is required to have a functional mountain bike (rentals can be arranged if needed). BMX and track bikes will be provided. However, participants are required to bring a helmet, running shoes and riding appropriate clothing (shorts or pants, t shirts, light or heavy jacket and sunscreen). In addition, sunglasses and cycling gloves are highly recommended.
