A New Era For Kamloops Bike Camps

January 11, 2005 – The next step for the healthy growth of Mountain Biking was taken on December,15th. Kamloops Bike Camps, secured a lease agreement with The Little Shuswap Indian Band in Chase British Columbia, Canada. The agreement gives KBC access to more than 6000 acres of forested lands in the heart of the interior of BC.

Located on Little Shuswap Lake allows KBC’s clients to not only have use of cross-country and Freeride trails, but also a great place to cool down on the sandy beaches. This arrangement shows KBC’s dedication to foreseeing the future needs of our great sport and making it happen. We are very proud of this new facility and see a great opportunity for all levels of riders to participate.

We have already received confirmation from some of our National Team riders, namely, Chris Sheppard and Dustin Adams, that they are very interested in using KBC’s training facilities.

Chuck Brennan, founder and president of KBC, ” I feel that in light of the fast growth of mountain biking, a facility of this nature was the obvious next step. To have an area that is built by professionals with a long term goal, just gives our clients the very best riding experience. Our team consists of seasoned pros with years of experience in trail construction and guiding. Matthew Davis will oversee the project from a environmental prospective, relying on his engineering degree and experience as a trail builder, himself.”

Construction of the trail network will start almost immediately, as weather permits. The cross country trail network will be the first area to be designed, with a tentative completion date of March 2005. The Freeride trail will be started in February/ March with completion slated for May. The trails will be designed with the idea of creating an extremely unique and memorable riding experience. The unique setting, along with reputation that KBC has established in mountain bike touring, will set KBC above all other riding areas.

Keep tuned in to www.kamloopsbikecamp.com for up dates on the progress of construction. We are going to be updating weekly so all our future clients can see the birth of this exclusive biking area.
