September 28, 2012 (Las Vegas, NV) – The fabulous Interbike bicycle tradeshow continued at the Sands Convention Centre in Las Vegas, with the newest cycling goodies for 2013 on display. Pedal was on site to seek out the most innovative and exciting bike offerings that will be available soon at your local shop… here’s our final show report with vids to follow.

Marin
For 2013 Marin’s full suspension, 100mm Marin Rift Zone XC and 140mm travel Mount Vision XM series both receive new swingarms, featuring 142mm E-Thru through axle systems, bolstering stiffness an extra 15% over their predecessors. Enduro brand bearings are also featured on all 2013 Quad Link suspension bikes and carry a worry-free 10-year warranty.

Marin’s XM Pro tops their Mount Vision family with a RockShox Reverb dropper seatpost and SRAM XO parts, including the new Type2 rear derailleur and carbon XO Trail brakes, plus Kashima-coated Fox suspension, front and rear.

The Rift Zone 29er XCPro is the flagship model in the line, with a SRAM XX/X0 drivetrain, Kashima-coated Fox Float Factory fork and shock, Formula R1 brakes, UST-compatible Easton EA70 XCT wheels and carbon EC70 handlebar and seatpost.

On the road side, Marin’s Pro Fit series consists of the full-carbon Stelvio, available in five models, as well as the aluminum San Marino, available in two models. All Stelvios feature a new T3 construction frameset with a PressFit30 bottom bracket shell and RVS seatstay system.

3T
New from 3T is the Ergonova Team Handlebar, a top-level drop bar that has an oval shape on the top to allow for all-day comfort and create a natural fit position between brake hoods and bar tops. This F1 grade HM carbon fiber is lightweight (196g for 42cm). Available in 38, 40, 42 and 44 widths, with an over-sized 31.8mm clamp. SRP is $299.99 US.

The Luteus is a new cyclocross specific, disc-dedicated fork from 3T featuring a post mount for a 160mm disc brake and a reinforced fork blade to compensate for the extra stress generated by the braking forces of disc brakes. The Luteus has 17mm mud clearance, a tapered steer tube and alloy-faced fork dropouts to resist wear and stress. SRP is $559.99 US.

Fox
Winning BMX gold at London 2012, the Fox Rampage Carbon Pro is a great-fitting, high-end carbon fiber helmet designed to be the most comfortable full-faced lid on the market. Fox ensures that the Rampage is the most advanced helmet for both today and tomorrow. Available in red/yellow, black/white, white and matte black.

Osprey Packs
Redesigned for 2013, Osprey’s new reservoir is easier to handle when filling and loading into the pack with a new lightweight, low profile handle and dual-sided hose exit. The new 3/4-turn cap provides a quick and secure open/close, while the wide mouth opening provides easy fill and access for cleaning. The new, direct-welded hydrostatic plate keeps the reservoir close to the back and maintains a low and wide reservoir profile, while the mPE film provides the taste-free qualities of polyethylene with the added benefit of extra strength.

The premium line of Osprey’s mountain biking hydration packs, the Raptor series, is upgraded for 2013, being joined by the Raven women’s model, sized and tailored for a woman’s body. The Raptor and the Raven feature the airScape back panel, which provides cushioned comfort and breath-ability, and an updated BioStretch ventilated harness. Both packs have a full hip belt and have the new hydration sleeve design with direct access zip for fast loading. The LidLock clip quickly secures a helmet to the back of the pack, while the stretch mesh front pocket allows the rider to quickly stash extra gear. Both the Raptor and Raven packs are available in 14, 10 and 6 litre sizes, with three colour options for the Raptor and two for the Raven.

Also new in 2013 are the Osprey hydraulics Cleaning Tablets. These all-natural, biodegradable and chlorine-free cleaning tablets are designed to be used to clean any water container made of plastic, metal or other material.

Stan’s No Tubes
Stan’s No Tubes ZTR Alpha 400 rim shares the same dimensions and bead socket technology as the Alpha 340, but adds the triple channel and internal arch design of their nearly invincible Arch EX and Flow EX rims. The ZTR Alpha 400 offers a 33% thicker spoke bed than the original Alpha 340 rim for maximum durability.

The ZTR Iron Cross rim combines a stiff 17.5mm rim depth with ultra low-profile BST sidewalls to virtually eliminate pinch flats and dents under even the lowest pressures and most aggressive conditions. At 385g a rim, the new ZTR Iron Cross disc rims are designed only for use with cyclocross cross tubeless tires and traditional cyclocross clinchers.

Also on display in the No Tubes booth was the new ZTR Medalist 650b wheelset.  The front and rear hubs are the ZTR 3.30TI and the front can be converted from 9mm QR to 15mm thru axle while the rear can be either 10mm x 135mm QR or 12mm x 135mm or 142mm.  This 1,335g wheelset was raced by Sabine Spitz to the Silver Medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

There are now four sizes available, making it easier to find a great fit on this bike.

A Shimano Di2 battery can be placed inside the seat tube.  The handling stability on the curves is improved by increased head tube stiffness, while stiffening up the bottom bracket enhances acceleration. The Viper geometry is designed for long distance triathlon races where athletes need to run comfortably after their 180km bike ride.
