May 27, 2012 (Baie-St-Paul, QC) – Racing was fast and furious today in Baie-St-Paul for stop number two on the Canada MTB Cup XC circuit at Le Genévrier Regional MTB Training Centre. Series’ leaders Sandra Walter (BC, Xprezo-Borsao), Raphael Gagne (QC, Rocky Mountain), and Frederique Trudel (QC, Specialized Quebec) successfully defended their jerseys with victories today in the Elite women’s, Elite men’s, and Junior women’s categories.

In the Junior expert men’s race, Peter Disera (ON, Team Ontario) also held onto his lead with a second-place ride behind winner Marc-Antoine Nadon (ON, Team Ontario). Due to Walter, Gagne, and Trudel’s perfect scores, they have statistically sewn up the Series titles, as the best two of three events determine the winners.

The final race of the series takes place next weekend at Hardwood Ski and Bike in Ontario – see report on the cancellation of round #4 in Canmore.
