September 04, 2011 (Champery, Switzerland) – Reigning Canadian DH champ, Claire Buchar from Whistler, B.C., had the run of her life to take home the bronze medal against the world’s best in the Elite Women’s DH final won decisively by Emmeline Ragot (France) who earned the title back in 2009. Fastest quaifier, Rachel Atherton (Great Britain), settled for the silver while defending champ Tracy Moseley (Great Britain) could only manage a 9th place finish. Conditions in Champery were tough with rain and fog making the course very slippery and difficult.
