8th Annual 24 Hours of Summer Solstice

June 14, 2005 — Chico Racing is thrilled to host the largest 24 Hour mountain bike team relay in North America on June 18-19 at Albion Hills Conservation Area. The 24 Hours of Summer Solstice presented by Sporting Life is in its 8th successful year as a highlight on the Canadian cycling and outdoor adventure calendar.

Over 2,200 riders race from noon Saturday to noon Sunday, on teams ranging in size from ten to the soloist, riding as many laps as possible over 24 hours on a 17.5 km course.

This first weekend of summer brings participants together for a race, but more importantly, it is a 2 day festival packed with competition, entertainment, camping and camaraderie celebrating the outdoors and the sport of mountain biking. There will also be a kid’s race, bands, fun contests, and shopping through on site retail setups.

A new exciting finish to the 24-hour course is a technical section that will make for great photo opportunities and an action packed finish line.

This event was sold out for participants in February of 2005, but spectators are welcome.
