December 10, 2014 (Whistler, BC) – The Giro, Sponsored by Robert J Macdonald top place prize is $15,000 for Men and $15,000 for Women. After a successful 2014 event, the Giro, Sponsored by Robert J Macdonald, will return with double the prize purse to $50,000 at the 2015 RBC GranFondo Whistler on Saturday, September 12, 2015.
The race will provide competitive licensed category 1, 2, 3 riders an exciting opportunity to race the 122 km distance for a top place purse of $15,000. The event will split the cash prizing equally to the top 20 finishers in both the male and female categories. Registration opens on Wednesday, December 10 at noon PST for $150.
“The return of the Giro received a great welcome from the riders and the cycling community last year, inspiring us to take the race experience further for 2015,” says Neil McKinnon, founder of GranFondo Canada. “With Robert J Macdnald’s generous support, next year is going to be an exciting time.
