2016 Waterloo Junior Classic July 30 – Grass Track Event Should be a Blast

June 16, 2016 (Waterloo, ON) – The Kallisto-FCV p/b Toyo Tires Cycling team and the Waterloo Cycling Club are pleased to announce a new addition to the Racing Calendar for the City of Waterloo.

On Saturday, July 30th, Ontario Club racers will be competing on a 300m long x 7m wide manicured Grass Track at the Old Oak Park at St Nickolas school in Waterloo.  The City of Waterloo have been super eager to help with Junior Cycling.  The grounds keeper has made arrangements to make the racing surface as fast as possible…. Should be a “Blast”.

Categories & Race Format:
Patterned after the Grade system in Australia.  All Junior racers will self seed themselves into 5 different Junior Grades (A – E).  Adults will also have 3 different Grades to self seed into Grade A1 – A3.  This ability based system will provide for a Fun event for all competitors.

There will be 4+ races for each Grade to compete in throughout the day:
Standing Start lap, 5 lap mass start, 20 lap mass start and a handicap (stagered start) event.

Location: Old Oak Park (beside) St Nickolas school. Map.

Race Day: Sign on begins at 8:30am, track opens for warm up at 9am, racing at 9:30am
