October 29, 2012 (Toronto, ON) – Pedal was on hand at the Cycling Canada AGM held in Toronto this past weekend. At the conclusion of the meeting, we caught up with Cycling Canada President John Tolkamp and CEO Greg Mathieu. They commented on the fabulous cycling celebration held on Friday night, which featured Canadian cycling Olympians along with former stars, and lauded the achievements of the country’s top riders. On a more sober note, Tolkamp and Mathieu were asked to comment on the association’s changes and initiatives in the fight against doping following the aftermath of USADA’s shocking findings and Michael Barry’s admission to doping. Plus, with the start of a new Olympic quadrennial, the two leaders offered a summary of what Canada’s High Performance Program will look like in the next four years. Read our AGM report HERE.
