May 31, 2010 (Edmonton, AB) – Volunteers are needed for the 2010 National Road Cycling Championships! Edmonton is proud to be the host of the 2010 National Cycling Championships right here in our beautiful river valley on June 27, 2010. Want to be part of the action? Join our team and you will:
– be close to World Championship professional cyclists
– help Canada’s Juniors to represent Canada in international competition
– meet hometown heroes like Edmonton’s own World Cup Track Cycling star, Gold Medalist Tara Whitten
– participate in Volunteer Orientation Night on June 22nd 2010 for a complimentary BBQ and t-shirt where you will learn your role and meet other volunteers from your community (Location TBA)
Volunteers get the best view in the city! You might be patrolling a spectacular corner, assisting judges at an exciting finish, or helping a top racer navigate the city. You get to feel good about supporting the best in sport, showing off Alberta’s famous hospitality, and simply having a great weekend enjoying the best event of your summer!
