June 9, 2009 (Beauce, QC) – BMC’s Danilo Wyss (Sui) has won the opening 165km Stage 1 in Lac-Etchemin followed by Darren Lill (RSA) Team Type 1 in second and Canada’s Ryan Roth (Planet Energy) in 3rd. Wyss earned the yellow leader’s jersey and white Sprint jersey while his team mate Jonathan Garcia scored the polka dot Climber’s jersey.
