February 15, 2006 – Wheels of Bloor Bike Shop, Ultralink, T.R. Consulting and Cervelo are very excited to announce their ongoing commitment to supporting the Wheels of Bloor Women’s Cycling Team. As the team enters its second year of existence, it looks forward to building on the accomplishments made in its inaugural year, including provincial champion titles in both road and cyclocross categories.

The team plans to compete in both road and cyclocross at the Ontario level, in Canadian Road Nationals and elite level races, as well as in select NRC Calendar events. It will also continue its commitment to fostering cycling development at the grassroots and developmental level, through the provision of developmental cycling workshops and outreach programs to Ontario high school students.

The following riders will make up the team roster:

Returning Riders
– Julia Farell – Ontario Provincial Road Champion 2005
– Anita Lagler — Ontario Provincial Cyclocross Champion 2005

New Riders
– Heather Davidson – Engineer with a criterium focus
– Krystal Jeffs – Up and coming Espoir rider who has raced for Canada internationally
– Jessica Spence – Former synchronized swimmer who came into cycling through competition in the bike messenger racing circuit.

This combination of talent, experience and drive promises to make the Wheels of Bloor Women’s Team a force to be reckoned with for 2006, both in Ontario and throughout Canada.
