2005 Tour of Spain – Stage 20

September 17, 2005 – Today’s penultimate stage was a 38.9km TT from Guadalajara to Alcala de Henares. Although Libery’s Roberto Heras had a fair buffer over Denis Menchov, anything was possible – but few expected the Spaniard to almost win the TT. Wearing the Golden jersey, Heras finished less than a second behind Comunidad Valenciana’ Ruben Plaza Molina, and with one stage to go, is poised to take his fourth Vuelta.
