January 2, 2005 – Several days ago we reported that Cyclismag, a French cycling magazine, had suggested that the 2005 Tour of Langkawi may have been in jeopardy as the result of the recent tsunami catastrophe in southeast Asia. We are happy to officially report that this rumour was unfounded, and that the 2005 Tour of Langkawi is going ahead full steam.

Simon Donnellan, the managing director for the race, contacted us
saying,”The race is fully supported by the Malaysian government and shall serve as both a donation platform for victims in affected areas and as a message to the world that Malaysia is a safe destination and very much open for business.”
