2005 Road Worlds – Felicia Greer Profile

September 21, 2005 – With two of Canada’s best roadies, Lyne Bessette and Genevieve Jeanson, not racing at this year’s Road Worlds, Webcor’s Felicia Greer has stepped up to the plate:. Greer has ridden for the Webcor team in California for the past couple of years, after coming from the sport of duathlon. Greer competed at the World Duathlon Championships in 2000 and 2001, and this is her first Road Worlds.

No stranger to top level races, Greer is also rode the 2002 Women’s Giro d’Italia in her first year that was fully dedicated to cycling. Since giving up Duathlon she’s had a wide range of solid results including a win in the 2004 Cal Cup, 11th overall at the 2004 Tour of Toona, 7th overall at the 2004 Nature Valley stage race, as well as a bronze at this year’s National TT Championships, and she placed sixth in the Road Nationals.

An interesting side note on Greer is that she works full time as a Professor of Exercise Physiology and Nutrition at Fresno State, in California. Greer was originally the reserve for today’s TT, but with Jeanson not attending due to an Achilles injury, Greer will get a chance to test her legs against the world’s best.
