September 20, 2005 – Canada is fielding a slightly different team at
the 2005 Road Worlds in Madrid, Spain. Lyne Bessette made it clear
early in season that this year her racing will be much more relaxed.
She has not signed with a big team and has been racing on a more
local level including MTB events and now cyclo-cross as well. And top
Canadian elite roadie, Genevieve Jeanson, is also not competing due
to an injury to her Achilles tendon.

In their stead, Webcor’s Felicia Greer and MTB star Alison Sydor will
be on the start line. Greer will race the ITT tomorrow and Sydor, a
former top roadie and bronze Road Worlds medallist, will race for
Canada in women’s road race on Sunday, September 25.
