2005 MTB Worlds – Women\’s and Men\’s 4x

September 4, 2005 — Jill Kintner (USA) outclassed the women’s field today when she rode to her first rainbow jersey in the four-cross.

One of Kintner’s biggest rivals, Anneke Beerten (NED) did not start the event.

Australia’s Katrina Miller broke an attempted top-three sweep by the Americans by placing second. The U.S.A.’s Tara Llanes and Melissa Buhl finished third and fourth, respectively, in the final.

No Canadians raced in the event.

UCI World MTB Championships — Men’s 4X

Men’s

American Brian Lopes (USA) captured the World Championship four-cross title again after a two-year hiatus.

Australia’s Jared Graves (AUS) picked up the silver medal, while France’s Mickael Deldycke (FRA) cruised into third.

Major player Michal Prokop (CZE), who won the World’s in 2003, crashed out.

There were no Canadian participants.
