2005 MTB Worlds — Junior Men’s DH

September 3, 2005 — Australia delivered four top 10 rides in the junior men’s race at the World Downhill Mountain Bike Championships, in Livigno, Italy, including a first-place performance by Amiel Cavalier (AUS).

Great Britain’s Brendan Fairclough (GBR) finished second, only 1.36 seconds behind Cavalier. It was a tough battle between Cavalier and Fairclough. The Australian won the seeding run by a mere 0.96 seconds, but was beat out in the final when it counted.

Australia’s Liam Panozzo (AUS) sped to third place.

Canada’s Andrew Mitchell (CAN) threw down a strong seventh place after qualifying eighth in the seeding run.

Canadians Steve Chan (CAN), Derek Cowell (CAN), Kyle Ritchie (CAN) and Samuel Lagrange (CAN) placed 16th, 36th, 42nd and 51st, respectively.
